  1. I should clarify that – what I meant such an approach should not be used to try and understand the economy.

    Unfortunately it does unfortunately apply in the teaching of economics today, although it shouldn’t.

  2. Great quote. And in my own experience this also applies to a large degree in languages and harmony and counterpoint. But it cannot apply to economics, which requires an informed understanding of the problem before we can apply policy.
