Austrian writer Peter Handke — who helped pen the screenplay for Wim Wenders’ ‘Der Himmel über Berlin’ (‘Wings of Desire’) — has been awarded the 2019 Nobel Prize for literature. Great choice!

Added: I’ve got some private comments on this post. Let me be very clear: Handke did for years defend Serbian president and war criminal Slobodan Milosevic. To me that is totally and utterly crazy. But — this is a literary prize and nothing else.
