  1. Educated Idiots!

  2. In the UK, members of the Labour Party were called dogs for being socialists. I may not identify as a dog, but I appreciate that a dog would protest against an austere owner. Identity politics can be reduced to absurdities, but societies which repress difference can be authoritarian. I think we need a transition to a new economics, but as a liberal I could not oppose people who want to experience more personal transitions. I’m somewhat unsure why those who may benefit from pluralism in the discipline of economics would seem to be uncomfortable with harmless aspects of plural societies.

    • I have no problems with people of different sizes – but I find it bothering with nationalists (Orwell’s definition, i.e. people who can only think in terms of competing prestige).

  3. It seems etymology and social correctness don’t seem to see eye to eye.
In the words of Humpty Dumpty:
“When I use a word,……… means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.”

    • right, which is why the primary performers of identity politics in the US are the white, nationalist Republicans
