People are obviously not so impressed by the “queen of the social sciences”. And rightly so. Mainstream economics today is more like an ideological-religious conviction than a realist and relevant social science that people can trust for making their lifes or societies better.

  1. YouGov is a dubious opinion polling firm that was set up by the Conservative Party. I don’t trust pollsters with their leading questions, questionable funding, and strange methodologies for contacting potential voters (some people have no internet access and/or only answer known phone numbers). In the UK, Brexiteers distrust a diversity of economists who think that leaving the European Union would be poor economics. Economists may come from different traditions, but I trust several of them more than I trust other parts of the Opinion Formation Industry.
