John Maynard Keynes – a BBC documentary

On the whole a good popular take on Keynes, although it unfortunately – as do most textbooks in economics – mixes up Keynes’s own ideas with the different kinds of neoclassical bastard Keynesianism that developed after World War II.

Are you just trying to be kind? It made me want to gouge my own eyes out.

    • Well, I always try to be kind. In this case I actually didn’t find much to be really upset about, except the usual failure to differentiate between Keynes and “Keynesianism”. What exactly did you find so upsetting?

      • Off the top of my head, giving time to silly ‘the debt’s just too high for Keynesianism’ arguments. But it’s been a while since I watched it – I can’t exactly remember. I just remember being frustrated when watching it.
